When is cancer a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act?

Traditionally, one might think of someone in a wheelchair as being disabled, but that hardly scratches the surface of what is covered under the ADA. Cancer and other similar conditions that affect your major life activities can qualify. Whether a condition affects major life activities can also come in many forms. For example, your chemotherapy may make you tired, dizzy, or cause nausea requiring frequent breaks. Another example could be the state of mind the cancer puts you in. Cancer can lead to depression, reduced cognitive abilities, or a weakened immune system. These types of disabilities can qualify your cancer under the American with Disabilities Act.
